Five years old?!?!

Today my son is FIVE!!! Gosh, that can't be right! He woke up this morning (with his head on his Dad and feet in my face) saying "I'm 5 years old!!" (Ok, so I did start writing this post on his birthday!)

Well, he went to school very happy with his box of birthday cookies for a special treat for his classmates. And so thrilled to go to his party after school.

And what a great time we had at his party! I think that everyone that came had a good time too. We all got to bowl, which was so funny. I haven't been bowling in such a long time, and it was great fun watching Bobby run down the lane and throw his ball! Amaryllis had a great time running around like a crazy lady and getting in the way of the people bowling! Aunt Lisa was awesome, as was everyone else, as Amaryllis got passed around from one person to the other!

After bowling, everyone went and played in the arcade for a bit, before the pizza came. When it did, we all sat down and enjoyed. After that Bobby got to open his presents. What a time he had, he loved everything andas since played with it all!! Thanks to everyone for that! Then we all enjoyed the cupcakes and it was time to head home! It was a great evening had with friends and I think Bobby really enjoyed himself too, especially since he has asked to go back!

Bowling fun!

Egg Hunt Fun

Saturday was the town's egg hunt. It has been foggy and raining all week long, so I wasn't sure what the weather was gonna be like for this event. Last year it was sleeting and pelting snow (Bobby and Bob went, I was out of town), so anything is better than that!! When we woke up it was overcast, but no rain. By the time we got out to hunt for eggs, the fog had rolled in, so you couldn't see 10 feet in front of you, but at least the rain held off until after!

Bob took Bobby to his area to hunt, and I had Amaryllis. She did really well after she figured out what she was supposed to be doing. It was so foggy that I couldn't see Bobby area's, so I missed him, except for the few pictures that Bob took!! Before the egg hunt, they had art projects and things to do inside. Bobby got a tattoo on his face, made a bunny face with cotton balls and played a few games. The Easter Bunny also made an appearance. Amaryllis sisn't want to get anywhere close to him, but, the good parents we are, had her go and take a picture with him anyway!! And, as you can see from the above picture, she was fine! She did give him "five" and blow him a kiss! What a drama queen!

After all was over, Bobby ended up finding 27 eggs ( I think the 2nd highest in his group!) and Amaryllis found about 15, but shared them with a friend who got there a little late!

It was a fun time had by all!

"I don't want to get near that BUNNY!!"

Fun in Charlotte

Last weekend, Bob had to go to Charlotte for a middle school theatre thing, so the rest of us joined in the fun and we made an over night trip of it!! Our dear friend, Jesseca, made the trip with me too, to help out with the kids!!

Our day started at 5am getting up and packing the car up. At 6am, we loaded up the ki, still in their jams, hoping that they would stay asleep for the 2 hour car ride down. THAT did not happen!! Oh well, it was interesting in itself. Bob had to be at his location at 8am and was there until 10pm, so the rest of us found fun stuff to do!

After dropping him off, we had some time and went to breakfast at Cracker Barrel, always yummy food!

After we were finished, we took the kids to Discovery Place, which is a hands on type children's museum. There was a room with stuff to do with smaller kids and both kids loved running around in there for awhile.

We found out that Charlotte was having a St. Patty's Day parade that morning, so we took a little break from the musuem to go and watch the parade!

After the parade, we went back to enjoy the rest of the museum!

They had a special thing going on about the circus. The kids got to dress up like people in the circus and do things like circus performers!

The kids found the dinosaur's a little freaky! Some of them moved and made sounds...

They had a big area with blocks to build your own towers and everyone seemed to really get into that!

And as we were leaving, a lady came out with a tarantula for the kids to get a close up look at. I think Amaryllis really wanted to take it home!!

After the museum, we went to find the hotel we were staying at. Amaryllis took about a 20 minute nap on the way. I thought she would sleep when we got in our room, but nope, she was wide awake an so was Bobby. We hung out at the room some and rested, and then decided to go to the local mall and walk around. By the time we got back, it was bed time and the kids settled in for the night! It was a fun day!

Sunday was more of a Mommy day! We went out to breakfast and then off to Ikea!!! How much fun that was!! I got to spend a little money and was so happy! Then we went to Trader Joe's and I loved that store too and stocked up on some yummy stuff. bob got to get his "2 buck chuck", so he was very happy too! Then we headed home! It was a fun weekend and so nice to get off the mountain for a little bit!
