Happy Veteran's Day

Bobby had no school for veterans day, and the library was closed (our normal Tuesday adventure), so I made some playdates with his friends to give him something to do on his day off!! We started the day meeting up with Mark and his family in Boone at the Greenway Trail to ride bikes!! Mark started Kindergarten this year, and since Bobby is in school too, we try to get the boy's together when they have no school to see one another. It was a little chilly, so we bundled up and off we went. I don't know how far we went on the trail, but we were out there for over an hour! The two boys on their bikes, 3 kids in strollers and 2 Mommies! It was so much fun, until Amaryllis started getting cold/tired/hungry and screaming!!! HA!! It was a good time all in all!!

After that we came home, ate lunch and took naps so that we'd be ready to meet his other friends in the park!!! I had to wake Bobby from his nap to get him going so we wouldn't be late, and he was none to happy at first. We got there in time though and met Lily, Will, Avery and Miss Season for some time in the park! Four 4 year olds running around is always good fun!!! Amaryllis sat and watched for awhile and then she got out and "walked" around some! The kids love to take turns and hold Amaryllis while going down the slide, which Amaryllis loves too!! It's so much fun to see all the kids interact with one another. Then is was time to go home, chill for awhile and dinner!

And then today it was back to school and all the fun it is, especially waking early in the morning!! Tonight Beca gets into town and the fun that is Amaryllis' Birthday starts! I've got so much to do!!!

A clapping maniac!

Amaryllis learned to clap her hands today!!! Ok, so I know that it doesn't seem like something to get over excited about, but she's so cute when she does it!! Hee!!! I've been waiting for her to do this for months now, I knew she knew how to do it and would try to get her to, but she would never just clap her hands!!! So, this morning while she was in bed with Daddy before I took Bobby to school, she started to clap!!! YEAH!! Now she is so fnny about it and claps all the time!! Bobby has this singing monkey that she was dancing and clapping to, I think it's her new favorite thing to do!!

And she learned something else new today... switching on and off the light in her bedroom. Of course this is great considering that her crib is right under the light switch and instead of sleeping she stands up and plays with the switch!! So now we have to pull her crib away from the wall so that she can't reach it!! Thank goodness her crib is on wheels so it's easy to move!!

Crazy girl is getting so big in no time! Friday she turns ONE and before I know it she's gonna be talking away!

I'm gonna add some pics and videos later once I get it all uploaded on the computer!

Happy Halloween

Halloween was great this year!! The weather warmed a little and the wind calmed down, so it wasn't as brutal as when we did the town's stuff!! Thank goodness!!

Bobby's Halloween started at school. He got to wear his costume to school on Friday and at the end of the day his class had a "Pumpkin Party"!!! Amaryllis and I joined him for that! His class sang us their jack-o-latern song! He has been singing it at home for awhile. I said that it was a nice surprise that they sang it, and that he didn't tell me!! He told me that is was supposed to be a surprise and was very proud. Each student also had their own pumpkin to paint, and Bobby made a pumpkin with 4 faces on it! Hee!! His teachers dressed up too! It was a fun time!

That night, we went trick-or-treating over by our friends house!! We stopped at Bobby's teacher's house on our way to Boone as our first house to trick-or -treat at!! It's been so long since I've really gone door to door T-or-T!!! It was so much fun to see Bobby running up to the doors and having so much fun!! Amaryllis enjoyed grabbing packages out of her pumpkin and chewing on them!! She really got a hold of one box and ate the corner off it!! HA! Too bad, she won't be able to taste what she got for a few more months, I'm trying to hold her off for as long as possible! On our way home, we made two more stops in Blowing Rock, the Kay's and Lisa and Gary's!! It was a fun night and the kids were exhausted when we got home!!

BUT our fun Halloween was not over. Our church had it's "Trunk or Treat" on Sat Nov 1!! So we decided to go to that too!! We had a pot luck dinner at church, the they set up some games for the kids. They did a little contest to see who had he best warewolf howl, and Bobby won that contest!!! Then he decided, since he was the best, he would howl the rest of the night!! YIKES!! The kids got SO MUCH candy from that!!! WOW!! It was fun to see how people decorated the backs of the cars! Amaryllis decided she didn't like this one kids mask and FREAKED OUT SCREAMING when he walked by her at one point!! Poor sweet thing, but boy was it funny!! After that, Bobby and I dropped Amaryllis off at home with Daddy and we went to see the show at the theatre!! Oh, what a night!

Amaryllis' baby group had a Halloween party too!

Mr. Literal

On our walk to school this morning, Bobby and I were chatting about different things. I asked him if he had gone outside at school, and he told me they did until they got cld and then went to the gym. I then asked him if he wore his hat and mittens when he went outside. He told me he only wore his mittens. I asked him why he didn't wear his hat and he tld me that his teacher had told the class to put on their coats and mittens, but didn't say hats and that he has to listen to his teachers!! Needless to say, his teacher thought it was quite comical too and said she was going to be more specific now!!

Bobby also told me about how his "very good remembering" doesn't work until the sun comes way up in the sky!! Good thing that the time "Falls back" this weekend so that the sun comes up sooner and his "good remembering" can work sooner!!!

Oh, the things that can come out of his mouth!!

Sunday October 19, 2008

So I totally forgot to post about this!!! This month has been so crazy with things to do that I haven't been able to keep up!!! So I guess today was catch up day!!

Well, last Sunday Bobby, our friend, Lisa, and I went to Tennessee to ride a different part of the Tweetsie Train. Click here to learn a bit more about the history. Once a year this part of the train has an event to take people into the gorge to look at the fall colors. Lisa found it and invited us along, so I didn't tell Bobby and we went! He was so excited when he found out what we were doing and had a good time!!

Trick or Treating Part 1

Since my kids get to trick or treat numerous amounts of times at Halloween, I thought that I would make it into parts!! We had our first yesterday because the town of Blowing Rock likes to do their events the Saturday before the holiday!! Bob really loves this tradition, but oh well. Bobby had a great time as usual, doing all the fun activities before the Monster March and trick or treating begins. He got to go on an inflatable obstacle course, ring some pumpkins, a sack race (with Mommy), and run around on the playground. The weather was nice, but the wind could have STOPPED!!! That's what really made it cold, but we had fun anyway. I think that Amaryllis really enjoyed her first experience. She wanted to get down and walk during the Monster March, which made things slow moving, but she was too cute!! She kept reaching in her pumpkin pulling out little bags of candy! Too bad she can't eat it!! The kids did really well though, pulling in about a half pumpkin each of candy!!! We had fun and got to do it as a family, which was so awesome too!!
