Piggy tails!!!

Amaryllis' hair is starting to get long enough for me to play around with it!!! Of course everyone thinks it's really cute, except for Daddy who says that I am torturing her! But how can you not LOVE this face???

Playing with one of her favorite toys:
her princess purse that her cousin Lily gave her!
She knows she's cute!!

Two babies???

Yesterday I went to take a shower, but Amaryllis was still awake, and Bob was gone, so I put her in her crib to play. I had told Bobby to play in their room, that way she wouldn't feel like I was trying to make her go down for a nap. Well, I get out of the shower and hear laughing and playing, which made me happy that no screaming was going on. I walked into the bedroom to see what was happening and this is what I found...

Yes, Bobby had crawled into the crib with his sister to play with her! I never though about him doing it before. He gets into the pack-n-play at the coffee shop with he, but at home?? Well, I told him he was very funny and I was happy that he wanted to play with his sister, but not to crawl in again because i don't want him to teach her how to crawl in and out of the crib!!! AAAHHH!!! Oh, the joy of siblings!

And of course he became camera shy afterward!

Soccer or no soccer...

Today is just GROSS outside!!! Overcast, chilly and rainy.... YUCK!! It is also Bobby's first day of soccer with the kinder program. I have a feeling that it will be rained out. Bobby will be bummed, but that means he'll get to go an extra day at the end, because they try to make them up, since there are only 8 "practices" to begin with.

Amaryllis and I are up in the coffee shop today, and of course it's DEAD here. I don't anticipate much traffic due to the weather, so we'll wait and see and maybe even close up early since we are supposed to be here ALL DAY!!

The one good thing about the rain possibly?? Bobby might get Bob to let him play he Wii since he has been buggin over the past week! Bob had said that Bobby would have to wait until after the Olympics are over, and did tell them that he could possibly play on Tuesday! So, here it is Tuesday, with gross weather, and the chance (very good chance) that it's not going to clear up in time for soccer. Daddy better be ready to play this evening since I know he will be hounded otherwise!!!

We are starting to fall into a routine though, sort of, now that school is upon us full force! Bobby still doesn't want to wake in the morning, but once he is up and moving, he's ready to go. He has a hard time adjusting to the light too, which will hopefully improve when the time changes and we "fall back"!! I'm getting better at making sure that he is in bed by 8pm, and I usually have him there by 7:45, just because he has to sing the cd of choice still, "You're A Good Man Charlie Brown". I'm also getting better at trying to plan meals ahead of time, so I'm not standing in the kitchen at 5:30 debating what to make! Plus, I've worked out a system to bathe both kids that has been working out well!! And with soccer twice a week and me working until soccer, I already know what meals we are having so that he's not up later waiting for dinner... I love my crock pot and am going to look up more recipes so that next weeks dinners will be thought about already!! Things are still tricky, and definitely not perfect, but I am trying to organize better and have a better schedule!

Oops!!

I was holding Amaryllis while playing around on the computer and she wanted to play on the computer too. I pulled her away from the computer and ...

Oops!!! And now I can't seem to figure out how to get it back on!!! I had it half on and when Bob went on later and started typing, it fell off again! YIKES!! Why couldn't they make these keys like a regular keyboard where you can pop off and on the keys so easy?? I would have never imagined that you couldn't get the thing back on!!! Now we have this little nub that we have to hit exactly to get the shift key to work on the left side of the computer, and of course that is the one that I ALWAYS use!!

BIG baby

Yesterday while playing in the front room, I look over and see this...

Can you imagine having to carry that around??? I'm actually surprised that he got in it so well!!

Fun times at Tweetsie

I wanted to take Bobby to Tweetsie again before the end of the season. It's been akward going with Amaryllis cause she's to little to go on most of the rides and some of those rides, I have to go on with Bobby. So yesterday I decided that I would pick Bobby and Brooklyn up from school together and take the two of them. We dropped Amaryllis off at Jamie's house first so that I could go on the rides with the kids. This happened to be a great plan considering that preggo Jamie can't take Brooklyn on some of the rides!! So the two kids and I headed off to Tweetsie! It was neat. Brookie wanted to ride the train first, which worked out perfectly because it was just pulling into the station when we arrived! It was then off to the ferris wheel (which was Bobby's pick). It's so fun riding that with him now! He'll put his hands up in the air as we go down and it's such a HUGE deal that he doesn't scream out of fear, just joy, now! We went to the airplanes and helicopters next, which was sad because Brookie is now to tall to ride them, so she had to wait with me. Afterward, it was the tilt-a-whirl and cars. We went on twice so that both kids could drive themselves. We headed up the chair lifts to the other area of the park and rode the mouse mine, the jets (another kiddie ride), and the "Tweetsie Twister" (also known as the scrambler or "the egg ride" in my house! Thanks Beca!) Then it was back down the chair lift and to the car. For those that have never been to Tweetsie, we went on most of the rides!! We did skip the carousel and another kiddie ride. We also didn't go on the 3 rides that the kids are to short for. But, oh what an afternoon!

And you too can experience the fun of the Mouse Mine #9 by clicking here!

Dennis The Menace??

Ok, so I set out Bobby's clothes for school last night, as I have been trying to do every night so we don't have any morning fights about it. Well, after he got dressed this morning, I couldn't help but giggle! He looks like Dennis the Menace!! Hee!! He thought the overalls were really neat when we picked them out last night, though. He did start laughing and said something about his jeans having a shirt! Apparently he has not worn overalls in quite some time. He was just so funny!

It's also been very nice that Bobby and I have been able to walk to school the past couple of times! Since Bob doesn't have to be to work until later, he stays with Amaryllis and Bobby and I get a little time to talk and enjoy each other!! It's been a great way to start my day!! And a little bit of exercise too!

The Playhouse Music Festival and a Wedding

This past Saturday was such a fun filled day for us! We got up, ate breakfast and got out the door to go to the Playhouse Music Festival. The Playhouse is this wonderful thing in Boone that we go to to have fun and meet up with friends. It's an indoor play area that has different areas for the kids to play around in including a dress-up/ Kitchen area, a block area, a place to do arts and crafts and a ball pit in the basement! Over the summer we went almost every Thursday to meet up with Bobby's friend so that they could run around and play with each other. Well, this music fest has become an annual event for the playhouse and this was our first year that we got to go and it was great fun. Bobby got to have fun on some inflatables, including a jump house and a big slide! He also got to do different arts and crafts that many vendors had set up! There was different booths with crafts and such, plus one booth where kids could sell their own crafts! It was cute! And the music?? Well, they had a newer group called Secret Agent 23 Skidoo. There music didn't "sound" like kiddie music and they were pretty neat, even though Bobby was WAY to busy to listen to the music!! Hee! We were at a music festival and didn't really even listen to the music! They also had Billy Jonas later in the day, he's pretty big on the kids music scene. I got to listen to the Music a little because we met up with a friend that was in the music tent and I danced with her daughter!
It was fun. Amaryllis didn't take a morning nap and you could tell that she was so tired sitting in her stroller. She would slump over, but never fell asleep! Bob had the morning off from work, so he got to join us too!! It was so great to go and hang out as a family outside the house! I love being able to do things as a family like this, but it seems that when we are together we are just so tired if we aren't working!! But we had fun and Bobby got to show off for Daddy some, always a good thing!!

We had to leave the music fest early because I wanted the kids to go home and get a good nap because we had a wedding to go to later that same day. So off we went to get some lunch and nap. I think ALL of us took a nap when we got home! I know that I closed my eyes for a little while! Bob had to go to work then, so the kids and I went to the wedding by ourselves. It was for friends of ours that work at the theatre, Alice and Greg. They had a nice wedding at a garden in Boone and a reception after. Bobby just loved the camera that were on the tables, as he took lots of pictures of the people all around us! He even took a picture of himself with it!! I would LOVE to see how that one turned out! HA! I can just imagine! He also got asked to dance by a little girl! It was so cute! My camera was upstairs when he was dancing though, so I missed the photo, so sad! It was almost bedtime when we left though, so it was off to home and pj time! What a crazy day, but the kids were really good!!

The next Peter Pan

So Bobby enjoyed coming to see Peter Pan so much that he came FIVE times over the course of the run!! And one can certainly say that he payed attention because he picked up on most of the music and some of the choreography too!! He is just so funny!! He loves to walk around the house singing all the songs, we have a little musical theatre major in the making, I think! He is such a performer! Well, the other day he was working on a puzzle, so I asked him to sing the Peter Pan songs for me and I taped him!! HA!! What a funny boy he is!! Although he doesn't know all of the songs and some of the lyrics are his own, I put together a medley of him singing the songs of Peter Pan!! You HAVE to check it out! I put it up on youtube because I tried to put a video up here and it was taking forever to load I stopped! I'll have to try again in the future, but for right now click here to see Bobby sing Peter Pan!

Lasagna Anyone??

So after going to the pediatrician this morning, I feel much better about giving Amaryllis any food that we eat, with a few exceptions of course! Well, tonight we had lasagna for dinner. Although I had already given her food to eat (pureed sweet potatoes AND peaches), she wanted more food!! At first I just fed her from my fork, but she wouldn't let me eat anything, so I gave her her own spoon and bowl!! And of course, big brother Bobby had to get in the mix of things too!! And this is how it turned out!! HA!

Getting started

Gotta have bread with dinner!

And a drink to wash it down!

I'm 9 months old!!

Well, today Amaryllis turned 9 months old!! I can hardly believe it!! She's so BIG and really starting to become VERY mobile!! No longer a baby, that's for sure!! She had her doctor's appt this morning and was in the 10th percentile for her weight (16lbs 3.5 ozs) and height (26 inches). But on the flip side she fell into the 70th percentile for her HEAD SIZE!! (44.5 cm) My babies and their big heads, just like their father!! Hee!! It's so much fun to watch her grow! Plus, she's beginning to be a little snuggler! She hardly ever wanted to fall asleep in your arms, but lately after I feed her in the evening (or in the morning) she will snuggle on my shoulder!! It's so sweet and I love it so much, that sometimes I just want to keep her there instead of putting her down in the bed! Awe! I just hate to think that she's gonna get bigger, but I know that the fun is just starting!!

Bobby's first day of Pre-K

Bobby had his first day of Pre-K today!! We had to wake up extra early because school start at 7:45am and we are usually not up that EARLY!!! We picked out his clothes last night so we would have no fights this morning and that worked out really well!! He doesn't go back again until Friday because they have a staggered entry to let everyone get settled before the whole class is together. There are 18 kids in total in his classroom and he apparently made friends with another little boy today, go figure! His Teacher is Mrs. Knight and the assistant is Ms. Parker. They both seem very nice and do well with the kids! They did an evaluation on him and he scored in the 5 to 6 year old age range in everything. missing only a few things from each category. His teacher said she could tell he had scissors at home because he cut out a Dinosaur that is in the 6 year old age range!! His favorite things to do today were playing on the playground and "all of it" in the classroom. We stopped and got Kilwin's ice cream on our walk home, too! He can't wait to go back!

Crawling???

Amaryllis has been able to get around pretty decent lately. She ROLLS EVERYWHERE!!! Finally on Sunday she started to "scoot" on her belly. She doesn't get up on all fours yet, but it's pretty funny to watch her!! I took some video this morning and posted it on youtube. Check it out, it's pretty funny!! Now I just really have to watch out cause she's gonna get into even more now!! HAHAHA!!!!

PS And I know that I spelled "crawling" wrong on the video. I had a crabby baby in arms and it was my first time and I really wanted to post this so that all could watch her!!!

My first diaper cake

So I got to make my very first diaper cake this week. A friend of mine from church, who also worked at the coffee shop for me a few year back, had a shower today!! Thanks to the help from Jamie (who had made my diaper cake!!!), I made one for Jessie, her hubby, Matt and baby to be, Lucy!! I think it came out very well, and everyone seemed to like it tons!! Some of them had never seen one before and didn't understand that it was just a bunch of diapers!! Now, my next task, learn to make the baby bouquets made from socks roses and such!! We'll see!!

Last day of Peter Pan

So yesterday was the last day of Peter Pan, and Bobby's 5th time watching the show! I swear he know half the choreography and blocking from the show. And he knows most of the songs, well, in his own words though!! Last week I got to fly in the place of Peter Pan for some training. If you go here you can see me do Peter's first entrance!!

Here is the cast after final curtain call throwing around a TON of Pixie Dust!!

Let's see how this works...

So I'm gonna try blogging. I have no clue what I'm doing just yet or how to get around, but I'm gonna try this out. With the kids growing, and especially Bobby starting Pre-K, I thought that I'll try to keep this updated and everyone will get to see pics and hear stories from our lives! Sound fun?? Well, I'll give it a try and we'll see!!!
